Product Description:
The Ex formed in 1979 at the height of the original punk explosion. They usually get wedged into some bracket as relentless old-timers who still hang onto their original ideals and (maybe) dont know when its time to hang up their guitars. They're a political Dutch communal enterprise that's kept up their musical profile through sheer principle and commitment to the broadening the punk sonic ethos. This is their first full-length, it's primitive when compared with their current wide-ranging output, but even then they were embellishing their their scratchy politico-punk with some interesting instrumental touches. You can also hear the influence of their brethren of the time, in Leeds, the Gang of Four, and the original line-up(s) of The Mekons, who also share the honor of lasting just as long, and remaining just as long without commercial success.Recorded at Joke's Koeienverhuurbedrijf in Schellingwoude, NLProduced by Dolf PlanteydtOriginally released as a vinyl album (on Verrecords) with free bonus live 7" "Live- Skive".Re-released on CD by Ex Records in May 1994.Personnel:Terrie - guitarG.W.
